Fries,Park and Alarms
Yesterday we went to a meeting at the notorary in the morning, followed by a 3.5 hour nap!! Patrick and I had some yummy things from a local bakery and called it lunch. I was able to fall asleep for about 2 of those hours, it felt great!! After nap us and our friends next door to us walked to the park....wow, this park is HUGE!! THere is a river with paddle boating, a little amusement park, lots of people walking around and just lots of fun! I did get fussed at by the little old ladies, I think 3 of them all at once ganged up on me because Morgan had a tiny part of her leg showing from when the pants rode up while in the ergo....oh and I do not think they liked the ergo either...I just nodded, fixed her inch of leg that was showing and we all laughed about it after they left....okay people it is 75 degrees, I think a little leg is ok, heck shorts would be fine.....anyways what fun!! haha!! We had dinner at the McDonalds, where the trip walking there was fun in itself...a million bikes, scooters and cars and busses and people were packed in, but we made it to the golden arches, which I might say tasted just like back home. Morgan shared my fries and nuggets, and she seemed to love them. On the venture, Patrick set off a scooter alarm!! I mean all he did was walk by it, not even touch it and the alarm went off, and this was a loud serious alarm...we died laghing, because really, who has an alarm on the scooter?! haha1We got back to the hotel, had a playdate with Abby, Jimmy and Anna Mae and off to bed. Today after naptime we are going to go to the pool, the 7-11 and wallmart to get more formula and these meat pie hot pocket things for dinner....enjoy the pictures!!

She loves you Amanda. I can just tell.
ReplyDeleteSo it is a cultural thing that no skin showing? Or did they think she would get cold? Anyways, I love the picture of her looking right at you, she totally loves you and Patrick!!
ReplyDeleteNot cultural but to the Asian community the babies are everything and the grandmas especially watch over them very carefully. Often times the grandmas are the ones that care for them as the parents work.
DeleteThe no skin thing is cultural. They barely let the skin show on a normal basis unless its like 90 degrees. They go to anyone an pull te sleeves or pants down if they (the grandmothers) think its too cold. I'd they're chilly then they think the kids are cold! It's so aggravating it they do to everyone! While we are sweating, they have light jackets! Just a different culture there.
ReplyDeleteAhhh ok, that makes sense. So much to learn! Just wait till Mandy puts Morgan in her pink ruffled bathing suit!! :)
